Sunday Sorbet Throw| Free Crochet Pattern
It's always about the colours. How they match together, how they change, how many shades of one colour there are. When I saw those 4 colours stashed together in one aisle with yarns the idea came up right away. I just had to make something out of this and as a blanket lover it was pretty obvious what I am gonna make.
This blanket is amazing because you need only 1 skein of each colour (Bernat Softee Chunky Big Ball) plus! there is also enough left to make fringes. I was surprised that I could make a whole throw out of it. Well, of course if you'd like bigger size than you might need to get more skeins but even this size is pretty enough just for you or just for a nice touch to your home decor.
If you'd like to get this pattern printable and ad free, you can find it on Etsy, Ravelry, Ribblr . Let me tell you that all my printable patterns contain more than in the blog post. Such as better table chart so it's easier to follow the numbers and the order the yarn colours, full graph and also printable colourless table chart and outline graph only for your own colour combination!
If you enjoy my crochet content but you don't feel like to purchase my patterns it's absolutely ok.:) That's why my patterns are free on my blog so it can be available for everyone!
There's also another way though how to support my work with Buy Me a Coffee (my version is Buy Me Yarn, you know why:) ). It cost you even less than my actual patterns. You can check the link above or the button below for more details.
BIG THANKS for everyone who supports me by purchases, likes, shares, comments, tags or/and feedbacks! It means a lot to me.

How to keep your yarn skeins organized (optional)
For this blanket you will have many skeins attached with different colours and their order. If you have some yarn holder tools that's amazing and if not I have a solution for you. :)
I bought a plastic box and into the lid I drilled the holes (I think I have 16 and for this project you'll need at least 11). I also divided one skein of colour A, B, C and D into the 3 small skeins for each colour and put them in the box. I pulled the string out of the lid and ta-da, yarn messy free.
If you'd like feel free to watch my short video on my Pinterest where I show this hack. It really helps especially when you crochet with more than two yarn colours. Crocheting is smooth and yarn messy free again. :)
Gauge:
9sts x 5rows = 4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm)
Dimensions of the blanket:
45" x 54" without fringes
Abbreviations:
FDC - foundation double crochet
ch - chain
DC - double crochet
st - stitch
sl st - slip stitch
Notes:
1) whole blanket is done in DC only
2) you always make 2ch at the end of the row and then turn. 2ch counts as a first DC for the next row
4) you don't carry any colour through the blanket
5) if you'd like the blanket bigger or smaller, it's always multiply 20 + 1.
7) for the rows I use only shortcuts such as 1A, 19B, 1C, 19D etc. meaning 1 DC in colour A, 19 DC in colour B, 1 DC in colour C, 19 DC in colour D etc.
Directions:
101 FDC = counts as a first row (if you'd like to learn how to foundation double crochet, feel free
HOWEVER, for this FDC you have to join new yarn colours, so I suggest to see my video on
YouTube channel for this pattern where I show how to do it (It's at the beginning so you don't have to watch it all, this part starts at 4:49).

Twisted Fringe (optional)
For this blanket I decided to make twisted fringes on the short ends of the blanket. They are quite time consuming but the result is definitely worth it.
Feel free to watch my YouTube video where I explain it at the end of the video (starting at 32:00) or here's a short video on my Pinterest where I show it as well.
Directions:
Make your fringe of the same colour as your stitches. It's either for one stitch or 19 stitches.
1. Insert your hook into your first st and join the same yarn colour of that stitch. Pull up the loop with the new colour and make one chain (that works as a knot to secure the fringe, don't forget to leave a tail that you will make a double knot with and weave in after).
2. Make another chain and pull up the loop for 16" long.
3. Start to twist the loop (you can do it with your hook or your finger or even a drill) in one direction for approx. 35x. You will notice how it starts to curled.
4. If you haven't twisted it with your hook, grab your hook and insert it into the loop and make a sl st into the same st of the fringe. Adjust your fringe with your fingers and your first twisted fringe is done. :)
5. If it's only one colour of the stitch, secure the fringe and start with number 1 with a new yarn colour. If there are more stitches of the same colour continue with number 6.
6. Sl st into your next st and with that loop you repeat the process of twisted fringe.

appreciate it:)
